Taal volcano day tour

Taal volcano day tour

Taal Volcano is the smallest active volcano in the entire world. It is a great place to visit for a day tour. The place has a very unique landscape because the volcano is situated inside a lake and there is another lake inside the volcano.

I booked a group tour from our hotel to Taal Volcano. The tour included pick up, boat ride, crater lake tour and lunch. Our guide picked me from the hotel around 7 am. It was a 2-hour drive to Tagaytay. We stopped at a lookout point in Tagaytay in order see some spectacular views of Taal lake and the volcano. We went downhill from the lookout point and reached the shore of the lake. We boarded a motorized small boat for a 30-minutes boat ride along the lake Taal to the Talisay village. At the village there was also an option for horse riding to the crater lake. I decided to hike the trail. It took around 1 hour to reach the crater lake. I would recommend to wear proper hiking shoes if you are planning to hike the trails. It was a sandy trail filled with lose gravels and there was beautiful view of the lake from the trail. There were lots of volcanic steam vents along the hike trail.

The crater lake was greenish in color and the view of the lake was phenomenal. There were lots of viewpoints at the crater in order to enjoy the view of the lake from different angle. You could even play golf at the top the crater and can hit the ball into the crater lake. It was just 200 pesos for 5 shots of golf.I enjoyed playing golf there and it was the highlight of the entire tour because I was completely not expecting this.

We used the same hiking path to reach the Talisay village. Our boat was waiting us at the pier. We started our return journey to the pier situated on the other side of the lake. We reached the pier around 2 pm. We were served some authentic Filipino food during our lunch. I loved the steamed fish and chicken adobo served for lunch. We started our journey back to manila around 3 pm. There was bad traffic on our way back and I reached my hotel at around 5.30 pm. Our guide and driver were very nice and the tour was well organized.
