Kaohsiung- 2 things not to miss in Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung is huge port city located in southern Taiwan. I reached Kaohsiung around afternoon time after a 1 hour train ride from Taichung. I had only half day at Kaohsiung that’s why I choose to visit only famous two places in Kaohsiung. The high  speed train station is located at Zuoying station which is just 10-minutes taxi ride from Kaohshiung city.

  1. Fo Guang Shang Buddha Museum– I took taxi from Zuoying railway station to Fo Guang Shang Buddha Museum. It takes around 30 minutes to reach the museum from station. Alternatively you can also take bus from the Zuoying station to reach the museum but the ride takes 1 hour and the frequency of bus is 30 minutes.

The main hall is situated near the Buddha statue. There are multiple assembly halls, museum and art center inside the main hall. There are also 48 underground palaces inside the museum where various arts from different parts of the world are stored. The underground palaces are used as a time capsule in order to store the footprints of human.

    2. Dragon & Tiger Pagoda: After visiting the museum, I took a public bus in order to reach Zuoying station. Almost all the buses going to Kaohsiung pass through the Zuoying station. My next stop was dragon and tiger pagodas. The place was located around 20-minute walk from the station.
