There are lots of tours available for Ha Long bay. I decided to go for a 1 day tour of Ha Long Bay. The most famous tour was 2D1N tour of the Ha Long bay where you stay 1 night on the ship. For the people interested in partying can visit the junk boat tours. Ha long bay is promoted as the must visit place in entire Vietnam. Lot of people believe that the Ha Long bay was created from the dragon’s fire. The place was famous for hiking, kayaking, caving and rock climbing. There are more than thousand island at the Ha Long bay. Cat Ba was one of the biggest islands at Ha Long bay and it can be visited as a day trip.
Our guide picked us from the hotel around 8 am. Ha long bay was situated around 3 hours drive from Hanoi. On our way to ha long bay we stopped at a local handicraft market. It was a huge market for purchasing local hand made products. After a brief stop for 30 minutes we proceeded to Ha Long bay. We reached at the pier around 11 am. There was a huge hall at the pier and each tour group was registering at the office.
After a brief stop at the pier we boarded our boat for the cruise. We had our lunch inside the boat. We started our cruise along the bay after some time we were able to see the limestone mountains along the Ha Long bay. We stopped our boat at a small island and took another small boat in order to visit a lagoon which was situated around 20-minute boat ride from the pier. The small opening which connect the lagoon to the sea was heavily crowded because of the presence of lots of tour boats and kayaks. Finally, after lots of hassle we were able to go inside the lagoon but the view was not that great.
We boarded a bigger boat having access to the roof and started cruising. The view from the top deck of the boat was beautiful. After 1 hour cruising we reached the Thien Cung Cave. There was lighting inside the cave which increased the beauty of the cave significantly. Blue, Green, yellow and red was primarily used for lighting inside the cave. There was no sunlight inside the cave and most parts of the cave was still unexplored. The cave was cooler compared to the outside temperature. After spending 1 hour inside the cave we started our cruise back to the pier.
The weather was perfect on that day for cruising. The view of the sunset on the limestone hill and ocean landscape was amazing. We had a perfect cruise along the bay before reaching the pier after the sunset. After that immediately we started our 3 hour long journey back to Hanoi.
