Last day I took a day tour to Phi Phi island. The tour consisted of stop at 4 places. We started our day at around 8 am and since the place was far from Ao Nang we had to take the speed boat for our tour. We made a brief stop at a small island before proceeding to the infamous Maya bay.
Maya Bay was very famous because of the movie “The beach” starring Leonardo di Caprio. We had to travel inside a lagoon crowded with boats in order to reach Maya Bay. The lagoon had clear blue water. The guide said there are lots of sea snakes in the area so be careful if you want to jump into the water for swimming.
If you want to skip the crowd you can hire a personal boat to reach Maya bay before 8 am. Since this place was far from Ao Nang. A personal speedboat will cost you around 10000 baht. We did a hike to the other side of the island but there was nothing to see. The best view of Maya Bay was at the boat docking area. Maya bay was definitely my highlight of the trip to Thailand. After Maya bay we took lunch at another island before going back to Ao Nang at around 4 pm.
