Coron town Day tour

Coron town Day tour

I reached Coron after a 45-minute flight from Manila. Coron town is situated at the other side of the island and it takes around 30-minutes to reach Coron town from El Nido. Most of the hotels are located in Coron town. Coron is a very small town compared El Nido and It is not that developed compared El Nido. The hotels in Coron were very affordable compared to El Nido. I stayed at Coron Village lodge when i was in Coron.

Mt Tapyas view deck is the most famous tourist attraction in Coron. Mt Tapyas is situated just besides the Coron and the height of the mountain is 210 m. The trail starting point is easily accessible from Coron town main road. You have to climb 700 stairs to reach the top view point of Mt Tapyas. The trail is not tough if you are fit but I have seen some people struggling to climb the stairs. Thanks to all those hikes in Hong Kong this climb was very easy and I reached the top in 20 minutes without shredding a single drop of sweat.

The view from the top was breathtaking. You could see entire Coron town and the mountains from the top. The weather was perfect and the visibility was amazing. I was even able to see small islands lying far from the shores. You could see all the tour boats parked at the pier. At the other side of the deck people were taking time lapse video of the sunset. It was a great place to just sit back relax and enjoy the sunset on the background of limestone hills.

There is a small trail behind the observation deck which connects the observation deck with the adjacent mountain. The mountain was looking beautiful with its tall dark yellow color grass. I followed the trail and clicked some beautiful pictures.  When I came back it was dark and the observation deck was empty. The sky was clear and you could see so many stars, it is a perfect place for star gazing.
