Coron Ultimate Day tour

Coron Ultimate Day tour

I booked Coron Ultimate day tour to visit the infamous Kayangan lake. Coron ultimate day tour is a short tour compared to the island escapade tour because all the spots are located very close to Coron town pier.

Coral Reef Snorkeling –  Our guide picked us from the hotel around 9 am. After 30 minute boat ride we reached our first destination. The place is called Siete Pecados and it is a very famous snorkeling place in Coron. The coral reef was very colorful compared to other types of coral reefs I have seen before. Our guide warned us not to step onto the corals and also asked us to be careful of the sea snakes. Sea snakes are mostly found in the warm waters of South East Asia region and they are the most poisonous snakes in the world. The snakes are very shy and they don’t usually bite. Our boat captain said that he had seen a lot of them over years near the coral reefs.

Kayangan lake: After a great snorkeling at the coral reef garden we moved on to our next destination Kayangan lake. We entered the lagoon from sea through a narrow pass. The lake is situated at the other side of the island and you have to hike to the other side of the mountain in order to reach the lake. It was just 10-minutes hike from the Pier. I stopped at the view point in order to take the famous photo of Coron which was widely used in all the tourism advertisement. It is compulsory to carry life jacket with you if you wanted to swim in the lake. The lake is 80% fresh water lake and it is bluish in color.  The place was very beautiful and after spending an hour at the lake we came back to the pier.

Banul Beach

Banul beach & Shipwreck Snorkeling: Coron is famous for the World War II Japanese shipwrecks. Shipwrecks are very famous spot for Diving and Snorkeling. Before lunch we stopped at a shipwreck for Snorkeling. It was a unique snorkeling experience. Almost all the tour boats stop at Banul beach during lunch. There were lots bamboo hut around the beach where the food was served to the group. The buffet lunch was amazing and I also had the chance to try a unique type of seaweed.

Cyc beach: Our next stop was CYC beach. It is a small beach with shallow water near the beach. The beach didn’t impress me that much because the sand was not that white and it was a very small beach. After spending a short time at the beach we moved on to our next destination.

Twin lagoon – This was the last spot of our day tour and clearly we saved the best for the last. This was my favorite lagoon out of all the lagoons I had visited before. The huge lagoon was enclosed by large rock formations. The water was cold and refreshing. It was a perfect place to do kayaking and it was a great place to swim if you are a good swimmer. Since this was our last stop we had lot of time to explore the beautiful lagoon. Lagoon looks beautiful because of its bluish color.

The island hopping tours are not affected by bad weather because most locations are located very close to Coron town. I strongly feel Coron is more beautiful and relaxing than El Nido because of more scenic landscape and less crowd.
