Trip to Kampot was one of the best part of Cambodia trip. I made last minute plan to visit the place because of the positive feedback of lots of people who already visited Kampot. I stayed at the mad monkey hostel at Kampot. The trip to Kampot was 4 hours by bus from Sihanoukville. I reached Kampot at around 6 pm. I rented a motorcycle in order to explore the place.
Kampot is a small beautiful town situated near the river Tuek Chhu river. The best way to explore the place is by using bicycle since I had to go some places situated far from Kampot I rented a motorcycle.
Early morning I took the motorcycle to the Kep town and the beach. There were couple of monuments on the way before I reached the beach. The roads were not crowded and the drive was very scenic. The beach was absolutely below average and i wouldn’t recommend visiting this place.
After the ride to the Kep town I proceeded towards Bokor National park. It was a long 100 km ride. The roads were fantastic to the Bokor National park. I was not expecting such a good quality road in a country like Cambodia. The beauty of the national park was enhanced by fog and total empty roads. The road to the Bokor National park was completely empty. It was one of the best motorcycle ride I have ever taken. During your road trip you can stop at Buddha statue and you can also visit an empty Casino.I also saw some people transferring a house using trucks. The total trip was around 250 km and I was very tired after the trip. The next day I went to the capital city Phnom Pehn.
