Kuala lumpur is a mega city in Malaysia. The connectivity to Kuala Lumpur from all over Asia is insane because of the presence of Air Asia. Kuala lumpur also has great metro system because of which the accessibility to most tourist place is very easy. I took a bus from Genting highland and reached Kuala Lumpur around afternoon time. KL Sentral is the main railway station, almost all the places in Kuala Lumpur is easily accessible from KL Sentral. I was staying at a hostel near the Merdeka Square.  The place was very close to some other important tourist attraction of Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur  is famous for the Petronas twin tower. During the early 2000 this was the tallest building  in the world.

Kuala Lumpur Tower– KL tower was around 20-minute walk from my hostel. It was a communication tower built in the 1995. The tower has an observation deck on the top floor. There is also a revolving restaurant on the top floor. There is an amazing panoramic view from the observation deck. The best time to visit the place is during the evening time. Petronas tower looks fantastic from the observation deck of KL tower. They also have an area which is made of glass floor. It was very thrilling experience to walk on the glass floor and look down.

The pub street is very famous in the area and it’s a great place to hang around with your friends after 9 pm. Every weekend they organize a pub crawl which is frequently visited by lots of tourists.

Kuala Lumpur Twin tower & KLCC Park – On my second day at Kuala Lumpur I visited the twin tower. It was my childhood dream to visit the place because it was advertised a lot when it was the tallest tower. The tower was 10 mins taxi ride from my hostel. They have a tour to the observation deck every 30 mins. They limit the number of people who can access the observation deck at the same time. It is better to prebook the tour online otherwise the slots will be sold out.  There is also a shopping mall at the ground floor of the tower.

SKY Bridge

I had already booked my slot at 9.30 am. Our first stop was the sky bridge.  The bridge is the highest 2-Storey bridge in the world. It was situated at the 41st and 42nd floor. The length of the bridge was around 60 m. I was shocked to know that the weight of the bridge was whopping 750 tons. After spending 30-minutes at the bridge we went to the observation deck.

The view from the observation deck was Insane. You can feel the vastness of the city by visiting the deck. One side of the view was covered by other twin tower. The Islamic architecture looked brilliant and you could also look down to see the bridge from the observation deck. You can also buy lots of souvenir or can also read about the history of the tower at the observation deck

KLCC park was situated just near the Petronas tower. I walked around the park around morning 11 am and it was very hot, there was hardly anyone inside the park.

Batu caves – From KLCC I walked up to the KLCC metro station and took the metro to KL Sentral. It takes around 30-minute train ride in order to reach Batu caves from KL Sentral. KL Sentral is a huge station and almost all the metro lines connects through KL Sentral. There are lots of huge caves, temples and lime stone hill in the Batu cave area. There is a huge Murugan statue situated at the entrance of the Batu caves. It is a very popular hindu shrines outside India and it is dedicated to Lord Murugan.

There are around 300 stairs in order to reach the temple inside the cave. The height of each step is higher than the average stairs height so it takes considerable amount of time for the devotees to reach the temple. The limestone cave was very big and there was also a cave expedition tour available at the top. The temperature inside the cave was considerably cooler compared to outside and the sunlight was coming from the few openings at the top of the cave. The place was also very famous in Malaysia for mountaineering.

Heli lounge and Bar – The lounge was situated very close to the KL tower. The lounge was situated on the helipad. You can get great 360-degree view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline from the lounge. The best time to visit the place is around sunset time. I reached the place around 8 pm and I felt I was late. It is advisable to book a table if you want to avoid waiting. The place was reasonably priced. You can also see great night time view of Petronas tower from the lounge.
