6 Things not to miss for a day trip to Bangkok

Most of the people will start their Thailand adventure from Bangkok. Bangkok is a vibrant city with great flight connectivity to almost everywhere. Bangkok has two airports which are situated far apart please make sure you reach the correct airport when taking your onward flight. Bangkok has some of the best street food market of Asia. If you are into Thai cuisine then you can try some delicious Thai food all over Bangkok at an affordable rate.

It is very convenient to travel from one place to another because of very efficient Metro rail network in Bangkok.  Sukhumvit is the best place to stay in Bangkok because of availability of lots of affordable hotels and also because of convenience to travel to other centers of Bangkok.

1 Khaosan Road- Khaosan road is famous for its vibrant night life and street food. You can visit the place after 7pm. There are also lots of famous thai restaurants situated in the street and the street is also famous for its nightlife.

2 Grand Palace-Visit to Bangkok will be incomplete without visit to grand palace. The palace has been the residence of the king of Siam since 1782. Grand palace is situated near the Phraya river and it is very convenient to reach there by taxi.

3 Wat Arun & Phraya river- Wat Arun is a Buddhist temple and it is situated on the west bank of the Phraya river.  Visit the place to see amazing architecture and the visit to the place is incomplete without taking a boat ride on the Phraya river to see sunset.

4 Golden Buddha –Golden Buddha is located inside the temple of Wat Traimit. Wat Traimit houses the world’s largest massive gold seated Buddha measuring nearly five meters in height and weighing five and a half tons.

5 Royal City Avenue- This place is situated near Sukhumvit and has some of the best night clubs in Asia. Most of the clubs are open till dawn.

6 Siam Paragon- Bangkok has a lot of options for shopping. The best place for shopping is Siam Paragon. The place is conveniently located to metro rail network through Siam paragon station.

I stayed in Bangkok only for a day before moving on to Koh Samui. One day is not a justice to a city like Bangkok. I would recommend one should spend at least 3 days in Bangkok.
